Over the past couple of weeks multiple leaks have hinted at something quite incredible happening to the American Express Gold Card. First we had cardholders see 4x point earning rates on US restaurants and supermarkets show up in their accounts, and then after a couple of hours these rates disappeared (to be honest I think they did this on purpose to get people talking).
