Chase Checking New Bonus--TheCreditShifu.com

A recent report from Visa shows that some consumers are shifting away from using credit cards as a result of the coronavirus outbreak. While this may or may not be a permanent shift, banks seem to respond with amped offers on their other products. Last month Amex rolled out a 25,000 point bonus offer for opening high yield savings accounts. Now, Chase Total Checking is offering a $200 welcome bonus when you open a new account and set up direct deposit.

  • Keep an average beginning day balance of $5,000 or more in any combination of this account and linked qualifying checking, savings and other balances.

How To Receive Chase Total Checking $200 Bonus

1) Open a new Chase Total Checking account by 10/14/2020.

2) Have your direct deposit made to this account within 90 days of account opening. Your direct deposit needs to be an electronic deposit of your paycheck, pension or government benefits (such as Social Security) from your employer or the government.

Person to Person payments (such as Chase QuickPay® with Zelle®) are not considered a direct deposit.

3) After you have completed all the above checking requirements, Chase will deposit the bonus in your new account within 10 business days. You can receive only one new checking account related bonus every two years from the last enrollment date and only one bonus per account.

It is worth mentioning that bonuses are considered interest and will be reported on the IRS Form 1099-INT. If you close the checking account within six months after opening, Chase will deduct the bonus amount at closing. This bonus is only available to new customers, who have not had a Chase Total Checking account within the past 90 days.
