Amex offers select cardmembers up to two $5 statement credits when they spend $50 or more – in one or several  transactions – on eligible purchases made directly with Target and Walmart at their US locations, US websites and US mobile apps. The offer is valid for both online and in-store purchases through October 15. 

Some third-party brands sold in-store or online at Walmart and Target are excluded from the list of qualifying purchases. 

For Walmart, the additional exclusions are for online and in-store purchases layaway, contact lens, photo services, recurring subscription services such as Walmart Beauty Box Classic, Walmart Beauty Box Trendy and Walmart Baby Box, insurance services, in-store pharmacy transactions, auto services, protection plans, Walmart MoneyCenter, and Walmart Care Clinic.

To take advantage of the offer you need to add it to your Amex credit card.

The Spend $50 Get $5 offer is available to:

  • Amex Gold,
  • Amex EveryDay,
  • Amex Green,
  • Amex Blue Cash Everyday,
  • Blue Cash Preferred, and more.

This obviously benefits Amex and these stores, because it serves as advertising for them, shop there once with an Amex offer and you may like it so much you continue to shop there! But still, wise consumers can save a lot of money by maximizing Amex offers.
